Privacy Policy for BrightPath Cards
Effective date: August 23, 2026
BrightPath Ventures (“we,” “us,” or “our”) created BrightPath Cards to help users scan, organize, save, and share business-card information. We designed the app to keep personal information private and under the user’s control.
Information We Do Not Collect
BrightPath Cards does not:
Require an account or login
Collect or transmit your saved business cards
Operate a remote contact database
Use advertising or tracking technologies
Include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
Sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising
Business-card information processed only on the user’s device is not collected by BrightPath Ventures.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app may store the following information locally:
Personal business-card profiles
Scanned front and back card images
Names, organizations, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, and business addresses
Notes, tags, priorities, pipeline stages, events, and follow-up details
App preferences and Pro-unlock status
Text recognition is performed on the device. BrightPath Ventures cannot access this locally stored information.
Device Permissions
BrightPath Cards may request access to:
Camera and Photos: To scan or import business-card images
Contacts: To save selected cards to Apple Contacts
Calendars: To create follow-up events when requested
Notifications: To deliver reminders created by the user
Face ID or device authentication: To protect app access when Privacy Lock is enabled
Permissions are requested only when needed and can be changed through iOS Settings.
Backups and Exports
Users may choose to export or back up their information through iCloud Drive, AirDrop, Files, or installed file-storage providers.
These actions occur only after the user initiates them. Information sent to Apple or another selected provider is governed by that provider’s privacy policy and account settings.
Sharing and External Services
BrightPath Cards can open system or third-party services for calling, messaging, email, WhatsApp, maps, QR-code sharing, and other user-selected actions.
When a user chooses one of these actions, the relevant contact information may be provided to the selected service. The service’s own privacy policy and terms will apply.
In-App Purchases
BrightPath Cards Pro is available through an Apple in-app purchase. Apple processes payment, account, and transaction information. BrightPath Ventures does not receive or store payment-card details.
The app receives limited purchase-status information from Apple so it can unlock or restore Pro features. Apple’s App Store privacy practices are available at:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/appstore/
Data Retention and Deletion
Information remains on the user’s device until the user edits or deletes it, removes the app, or restores the device.
Because BrightPath Ventures does not maintain a remote database containing users’ cards or profiles, we generally cannot retrieve, modify, export, or delete information stored on a user’s device.
Deleting exported files or cloud-drive backups must be completed through the service where those files were saved.
Children’s Privacy
BrightPath Cards is not directed to children under 13, and BrightPath Ventures does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Security
The app uses iOS security features and protected local storage. Users may optionally enable Face ID or device-passcode protection. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should protect their devices and exported files appropriately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app’s features or privacy practices change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
