Effective date: August 31, 2026
Last updated: August 31, 2026

BrightPath DebtPath is designed to help you explore debt-payoff strategies while keeping your financial information private and under your control.

This Privacy Policy explains how BrightPath DebtPath handles information when you use the iPhone application.

Summary

BrightPath DebtPath:

  • Does not require an account

  • Does not require bank linking

  • Does not sell personal information

  • Does not use advertising networks

  • Does not include third-party analytics SDKs

  • Does not track you across apps or websites

  • Stores your debt-plan information locally on your device

  • Does not upload your debt-plan information to BrightPath servers

  • Uses Apple’s on-device technology for supported Apple Intelligence features

Information you enter

You may enter information such as:

  • Debt names and categories

  • Current and original balances

  • Annual percentage rates

  • Required payment amounts

  • Recurring fees

  • Due days

  • Promotional-rate dates and assumptions

  • Extra-payment scenarios

  • One-time payment boosts

  • Payment history and notes

This information is stored locally in the application’s database on your device. BrightPath does not operate a cloud account or server that receives this information in the current version of the app.

Do not enter complete account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or other information that is unnecessary for payoff planning.

Data collection

BrightPath does not collect personal information, financial information, device identifiers, usage analytics, diagnostic data, or advertising data through the app.

The app does not contain third-party advertising, tracking, analytics, or bank-linking software.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account.

BrightPath DebtPath receives verified product and entitlement information needed to determine whether Pro features should be unlocked. The app does not receive your full payment-card number or Apple Account password.

Apple’s handling of purchase and account information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.

Apple Intelligence

On eligible devices, BrightPath DebtPath may use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework to explain payoff-plan results.

DebtPath performs financial calculations using its deterministic calculation engine. The app then provides already-calculated plan facts to the on-device model for explanation.

DebtPath does not send this information to a BrightPath server or third-party artificial-intelligence service. When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, the app uses an offline rules-based explanation.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app asks iOS for notification permission and creates notification schedules on your device.

Reminder text is designed to avoid displaying lender names, balances, or other detailed financial information. You can disable reminders in DebtPath or in iPhone Settings at any time.

Device authentication

If you enable the app lock, authentication is handled by iOS through Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.

BrightPath DebtPath does not receive, collect, or store your biometric information.

Data export

You may export your information as a CSV file. Export occurs only after you request it and choose a destination using Apple’s system interface.

Exported files may contain sensitive financial information. You are responsible for protecting exported files and choosing where they are stored or shared.

Data storage and retention

Your app information remains on your device until you edit it, delete individual records, or remove the app.

Information may also remain in device backups managed through Apple services, depending on your iPhone and backup settings. BrightPath does not control Apple-managed backups.

Because BrightPath does not maintain an account or server-side database for the app, BrightPath generally cannot access, recover, or remotely delete your locally stored plan.

Your choices

You can:

  • Review and edit your assumptions at any time

  • Delete individual debts and associated records

  • Disable reminders

  • Disable device authentication

  • Export a copy of your information

  • Remove the app and its locally stored data

  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account

Export any information you wish to keep before deleting the app.

Support communications

If you contact BrightPath for support, you may voluntarily provide your email address, message, device information, or screenshots.

Support information is used only to respond to your request, diagnose problems, maintain security, and improve the app. It is not sold or used for advertising.

Do not include account numbers, lender statements, passwords, Social Security numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, or comply with applicable law.

Children’s privacy

BrightPath DebtPath is not directed toward children under 13, and BrightPath does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support communication, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Sharing and sale of information

BrightPath does not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

Because the app does not transmit your debt-plan information to BrightPath, BrightPath does not share that information with lenders, data brokers, advertisers, analytics providers, or credit-reporting agencies.

Information voluntarily provided through support may be disclosed only when reasonably necessary to operate support services, protect users, comply with the law, or respond to a valid legal request.

Security

BrightPath DebtPath uses Apple platform technologies and local storage to reduce unnecessary transmission of sensitive information.

No device, application, storage system, or communication method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode, enable the optional app lock, and store exported files carefully.

Third-party services

The app relies on Apple platform services for functions such as:

  • App Store purchases and subscriptions

  • Device authentication

  • Local notifications

  • System file export

  • Apple Intelligence on supported devices

These services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s policies and terms.

DebtPath does not require third-party bank-linking, advertising, analytics, or cloud-AI services.

International users

BrightPath DebtPath stores app data locally and does not transfer debt-plan information to BrightPath servers.

If you contact support, your communication may be processed in the country where BrightPath or its support providers operate. Applicable privacy rights may vary by location.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

The revised policy will display an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or its App Store listing when appropriate.
