Privacy Policy for BrightPath SafetyNet

Effective date: September 1, 2026
Last updated: September 1, 2026

BrightPath SafetyNet is developed and operated by Pedro Ignacio (“BrightPath,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

BrightPath SafetyNet is designed to help you create an educational emergency-fund and household-preparedness roadmap while keeping your information under your control.

Privacy at a Glance

  • No BrightPath account is required.

  • No bank connection is required.

  • Your roadmap is stored locally on your device.

  • We do not operate a server that receives your financial roadmap.

  • We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

  • We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

  • Apple Intelligence processing used by the app occurs on supported devices.

  • Exports are created only when you request them.

  • Purchases are processed by Apple.

Information Stored by the App

BrightPath may store information you choose to enter, including:

  • Household name

  • Current emergency savings

  • Monthly contribution amount

  • Essential expenses and notes

  • Number of dependents

  • Medical or property deductible assumptions

  • Income-stability selections

  • Emergency scenarios and scenario notes

  • Preparedness actions and milestones

  • Reminder preferences

  • App security preferences

This information is stored locally using Apple’s on-device storage technologies. BrightPath does not transmit this roadmap to a BrightPath-operated server.

You are not required to use real names in household or scenario fields.

Apple Intelligence

On compatible devices, BrightPath’s optional “Explain My Plan” feature uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework.

When you request an explanation, the app may provide the on-device model with a limited summary containing:

  • Monthly essential expenses

  • Current cushion

  • Your calculated target range

  • Estimated runway

  • Monthly contribution setting

  • The name of a reviewed scenario, if applicable

This processing occurs through Apple’s on-device system language model. BrightPath does not send these prompts or responses to its own server or to a third-party artificial-intelligence provider.

When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, BrightPath creates a rule-based explanation locally.

Apple describes its Foundation Models framework as providing access to an on-device language model. Learn more in the Apple Foundation Models documentation.

AI-generated explanations may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are educational summaries and do not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, medical, or insurance advice.

Face ID and Device Authentication

You may choose to protect the app using Face ID, Touch ID where supported, or your device passcode.

Authentication is performed by Apple’s operating system. BrightPath receives only the result of the authentication attempt. BrightPath does not receive, store, or have access to your biometric information.

Enabling this feature protects access through the app but cannot protect information you independently export or share.

Reminders and Notifications

BrightPath can schedule optional local reminders on your device.

If you enable reminders, iOS will request notification permission. Reminder content and scheduling are handled through Apple’s local-notification system. BrightPath does not use a remote notification server for these reminders.

You can disable reminders in BrightPath or through your device’s notification settings.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Optional purchases are processed through Apple’s StoreKit and the App Store.

BrightPath receives limited purchase-status information needed to determine whether premium features should be unlocked, such as the purchased product and current entitlement status. BrightPath does not receive your full payment-card number or App Store password.

Apple processes App Store purchases according to its own policies. Additional information is available in Apple’s App Store and Privacy notice.

Data Exports and Readiness Reports

BrightPath can create JSON exports and PDF readiness reports when you request them.

Export files may include financial assumptions, expenses, scenarios, preparedness actions, and calculated roadmap results. These files are placed in a temporary location and presented through Apple’s system share sheet.

BrightPath removes its temporary export copy after the share sheet closes. However, copies saved or shared through another app, cloud service, email provider, printer, or recipient are controlled by that destination and its privacy practices.

Review every export before sharing it, and share sensitive information only with people and services you trust.

Voluntary Protection Reviews

After certain scenarios are completed, BrightPath may offer an optional set of questions that you can share with a qualified professional of your choice.

BrightPath does not automatically send your information to an insurance company, financial professional, employer, or other provider. The current version does not recommend a specific product or provider.

Information leaves BrightPath only if you choose a destination through Apple’s share sheet.

Information We Do Not Collect Through the App

The current version of BrightPath does not collect through a BrightPath-operated service:

  • Bank credentials or account balances

  • Credit- or debit-card numbers

  • Social Security or government identification numbers

  • Precise or approximate location

  • Contacts

  • Photos or videos

  • Health records

  • Browsing history

  • Advertising identifiers

  • Third-party tracking data

BrightPath does not include third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics SDKs.

Apple may separately process App Store, device, diagnostic, or purchase information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policies.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as:

  • Your name or email address

  • Device and operating-system details

  • App version

  • Screenshots

  • The contents of your support message

Do not send bank credentials, government identification numbers, medical records, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Support communications are used to respond to your request, investigate problems, maintain security, and improve the app. They are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or as required by law.

Website Information

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Website visits are handled separately from the financial planning information stored locally in the BrightPath SafetyNet app.

We use Squarespace's built-in website analytics, including its activity log, to understand website visits. Website visit information may include pages viewed, visit times, referring pages, browser and operating-system details, IP addresses, and approximate location derived from IP addresses.

Our Squarespace cookie banner is configured to restrict the non-essential cookies it controls until you accept them. Select Manage cookies in the banner to choose your preferences, or use Cookie Preferences to change them later. Essential cookies may still be used to operate the website. Browser privacy settings may also affect cookie use.

Website analytics does not mean that the SafetyNet app uploads your household plan, expenses or scenarios to Squarespace. The app's local storage, optional exports and sharing are described separately in this policy.

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Information may be disclosed only:

  • When you intentionally export or share it

  • To Apple when using App Store, StoreKit, device authentication, notification, or Apple Intelligence services

  • To service providers supporting this website or support communications

  • When reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect users, security, rights, or property

  • As part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer, subject to appropriate privacy protections

Because BrightPath does not receive your locally stored roadmap, we generally cannot disclose or retrieve that information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Roadmap information remains on your device until you:

  • Delete individual entries

  • Use the app’s “Delete all local data” feature

  • Delete the app, subject to Apple’s device backup and restoration behavior

Temporary exports created by BrightPath are removed from the app’s temporary export location after the share sheet closes. Files saved elsewhere must be deleted from those destinations separately.

App Store purchase records are maintained by Apple according to Apple’s policies and applicable law.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Use the app without connecting a bank account

  • Edit or remove roadmap information

  • Decline notifications

  • Disable Face ID protection

  • Avoid Apple Intelligence features

  • Export your data

  • Delete locally stored data

  • Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID

  • Decline the voluntary protection-review prompt

Privacy and notification permissions can also be managed through iOS Settings.

Security

BrightPath uses Apple platform protections and offers optional device authentication. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for securing your device, device passcode, Apple ID, backups, and exported files.

Children’s Privacy

BrightPath SafetyNet is intended for adults managing personal or household preparedness. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support communication, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.

International Users

BrightPath may be available in multiple countries. Support messages and website technical information may be processed where we or our service providers operate, subject to applicable privacy protections.

The core financial roadmap remains stored locally unless you choose to export it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when BrightPath’s features, legal obligations, or data practices change.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, providing notice through the app or website.
